Near St. Mary-on-the-Quay church, the Artichoke was demolished for the Colston Centre in April 1970. The entrance to the first floor bar was reached via St.Augustine’s Steps at the side of the pub. A newish public house not far up the road in Lewin’s Mead now bears the name.
