The Berkeley Castle, and two doors down the hill
the Lord Nelson, both these pubs disappeared in 1961 when the south east side of
Redcliff Hill was cleared to make way for new flats and road widening. The tenancy
of Albert Wilkins commenced on the 4th February 1946, the rent was £44 per annum.
The tenancy of Colin Millard commenced on the 3rd November 1948, the rent was £33
per annum and the landlords were The Bristol Brewery Georges & Co. Limited.
